Our Chardonnay from Coola Road vineyard on the Limestone Coast. Stunning shallow flint and volcanic soils over limestone site. Direct pressed and unlike its counter part the Batch # 1 it is fermented in stainless steel before being transferred to old french barriques but after 11 month, when we bottled the Batch # 1. Left on barrel for 6 months and rested in bottle for another 4 months.
The difference with the Batch # 1 then lie into the longer stainless elevage which has provided a more zingy, mineral, salty backbone to this Chardonnay and carefully enveloped into his ripe apple, floral mid palate from the barrel finish.
