In 2025 our home vineyard Lake of Fire was unfortunately frosted quite badly which has been rare for us with our mild temperatures (not too low) and our close proximity to the ocean. However this year got us a good one! Secondary fruit was lucky to ripen in what was a very hot ripening season but yields mean the entire vineyard was picked for one wine and direct pressed - the same as our estate white from 2023, however this year a Rosé was formed. Cab Franc, Shiraz, Pinot Gris and Riesling were all pressed together to create a soft field Rosé but still savoury and mineral-driven with bright fruit. It has a subtle earthy component, soft spice, dried herbs and its signature volcanic ash character.
